Finding the perfect pair of knickers is hard. But there’s a type of underwear taking the world of women’s underwear by storm. Scrundies. Not heard of them yet? Let me explain. Scrundies are panties, knickers or as I call them: the world’s most comfortable pants! Handmade by small businesses these pants rock! They don’t unravel or lose elasticity in the way regular pants do and they are sooooo freakin pretty! These pants put a smile on your face. Well, they put one on mine, that’s for sure. If your tush is interested in comfy pretty pants that last, you need to acquaint yourself with scrundies and I’m only to happy to help.
Introducing Scrundies – The world’s most comfortable pants
OK, so perhaps I’ve not tried every single make of panties in the world to be certain but in my almost 30 years of wearing pants, I’m yet to find anything that comes close to scrundie comfort. So much so all my pants are scrundies now. Nothing else will do for this tush! My daughter feels the same so there’s the kiddie stamp of approval too.
Stumbling across scrundies was a result of delving into the world of reusable menstrual products, e.g. cloth pads and menstrual cups. Anyhow, scrundies are so comfortable, its like wearing nothing at all. Gone is the annoying stray threads, muffin top and generally poor fitting pants look. Scrundies just fit well. They tend to hold their shape and last much longer than regular knickers I’d buy in high street stores. I’ve had some of mine over two years and they’re still going strong. So that’s money an investment made and money saved!
Customised for the perfect fit in your favourite colours!
As I mentioned these pants create smiles. Honestly, I actually like looking in my knicker drawer, it’s full of pretty pants. Personally, I’m a boy shorts kinda gal but if you prefer Bridget Jones style briefs or even thongs you can get those too. Scrundies are generally made with cotton Jersey fabric which gives them their stretch factor – so no annoying bits of elastic escaping from the waistline. Makers often have a gallery of fabrics to choose from for main pattern and waist/leg bands so buyers can design their perfect pants. Believe me when I say the combinations are endless! It’s easy to get carried away buying scrundies in all your favourite characters prints or patterns but a girl can never have too many pairs of pants right?! At least that’s what I tell myself anyway…
Scrundies vs Regular Pants
Let’s compare regular pants with scrundies and weigh up the pros and cons of each.
- Wear out quickly so need regular replacement
- Elastic unravels – not a good look
- Tend to have an unflattering fit
- Clothpads/liners tend to slide about in them
- Not particularly comfortable
- Can be purchased almost any where on the high street or online
In a bid to find comfortable pants before I discovered scrundies, I upgraded to more expensive brands like Sloggi. Yeah, the fit was better but my gosh, the colours were so boring! Black, white, tan. I like colour, lots of colour, give me colour! Plus they tend to be big ‘granny’ pants, I wasn’t feeling particularly sexy in em…
- As colourful as you dare
- Comfortable, I feel like I’m wearing nothing at all actually.
- Tend to be long lasting, I’ve had some of mine 2 years and they still look great!
- No elastic means no unravelling. Yay!
- Keep their shape after washing
- Flattering to most body shapes
- Great for holding cloth pads/liners in place
- A tad pricey (approx £14-£20 a pair)
- Handmade and not readily available on the high street
What makes scrundies special for me is, they are made of very few pieces of fabric and with no elastic there’s no loose strings. Whoop whoop! I also like that my cloth pads stay in place in scrundies.
What’s this cloth pad business I’m on about? I explain why I ditched disposable sanitary products here. If you’re already aware of just how awful disposables are and are considering the switch to cloth, then this beginners guide to cloth may help you.
Note! Not all scrundies are made equal, workmanship and quality will differ between brands. Quality makers are out there in abundance, so make sure you choose your maker wisely and read reviews before parting with your cash.
It is my humble opinion that scrundies rock. I am a scrundvert. Never shall I return to plain, boring store-bought pants. Scrundies offer a level of comfort that is matched by their pretty appearance. Perhaps I’m just a little addicted to scrundies but they are a good investment in my opinion. Long lasting and flattering to almost all body shapes – I’ll be stalking my postie for my pants post for many years to come I’m sure. If scrundies appeal to you I recommend you try some, many women don’t go back after trying them and I’m one of them.
Yours in true comfort,
Are you a scrundie convert? What patterns or characters would make your perfect pants?
